Infrastructure
One other very important characteristic of Limeira is its continuous investment in Education. Counting on a modern infrastructure to generate specialized technical labor, the city offers several options of well equipped technical / professional schools, which meet the demand of the companies. Academic and technical education, in different levels, is also available.
Nowadays Limeira has 05 higher education institutions, 77 municipal public schools working with educational technology suitable for the times of great technological evolution, 30 state public schools and 55 private schools. One large public University internationally known, UNICAMP – Campinas State University, which already has a campus for education of technologists and technicians in Limeira, will implement a new campus here, after scientific studies that will define the courses offered to meet the requirements of the continuous changing labor market. A wide digital inclusion program is under way through the Computing for the Family Program, offering free access to computing learning to all.
The municipal education also counts on the School Social Service to foster the integration between families and schools. A social protection net is offered by CEPROSOM – Municipal Center of Social Promotion, making courses available for the low income families every year, thus enabling skilled labor offer improvement for the service sector, among other benefits.
Considered as the capital of voluntary work, the city is among the communities, which mostly motivate and actively participate in third sector investments along with businesses involved with the social responsible social ventures and with participative organizations integrated with the community.
In order to generate more entrepreneurs, the city offers two business incubators, which teach new business persons and house new businesses while they are growing, so that they can enter the market through the quality door. One of the business incubators has diversified companies while the other one is aimed at agro-business.
Several trade shows and exhibitions are organized every year, as part of the city calendar, in order to exhibit and promote local production. Some of these events are FACIL, Aljóias, Expoconid, Exponoivas and Informax.
