Quality of Life
Limeira is served by 100% treated water and sewerage treatment is expected to reach 100% by 2007. The city has 18.3 m2 of green area per inhabitant, a rate higher than what is recommended by the UN, offering more quality of life to its people. 
Limeira also counts on modern hospital facilities, with neo natal ICU, burn treatment, oncology and a public health system available for the population. The most recent public investment in the area of health is the Healthy Family Program, aimed at prevention.The qualitative results of investments in health are observed through the rate of children death rate, presently at 10.8 per thousand, one of the best indexes in the country. 
As far as public security is concerned, the city continuously invests to modernize police system and training in order to have the police officers more involved with the community through the security councils, communitarian bases, besides the monitoring portal strategically located at the town main entrance. |
